Sunny Health and Fitness Rowing Machine – Review, Tips & Guide

I was looking for a new piece of workout equipment to add to my small collection at home, but I wasn’t sure what I wanted to get.

A treadmill was just too big! I would rather run outside. I also didn’t just want a weight bench because I enjoy more interactive workouts.

I came across rowing machines and knew right away that a Sunny Health and Fitness Rowing Machine was a great option for my home gym.

I quickly began to read one Sunny Health and Fitness Magnetic Rowing Machine review, and then another, and then another, until I knew that this was the best option for my needs.

Keep reading to learn how Sunny Health Fitness is your best bet when choosing a rowing machine.

1. Sunny Health & Fitness With 12 Adjustable Resistance SF-RW1205

This rowing machine is a great option.

It features 12 levels of adjustable resistance and a comfortable seat.

The foot straps are adjustable and the monitor displays time, calories burned, and total counts. My workouts were always smooth and flew by.

2. Sunny Health & Fitness Magnetic  SF-RW5515

I loved the magnetic tension system on the Sunny Health and Fitness Magnetic Rowing Machine.

There are eight levels of resistance, so you can customize your workout. I also enjoyed that this rowing machine was much lower to the ground. It’s as close as it gets to the real thing.

3. Sunny Health & Fitness Rowing Machine With Full-Motion Arms

If you’re looking for a full body workout, the Sunny Health and Fitness Rowing Machine with Full-Motion Arms is a great option.

It allows your arms to have a full range of movement, so no muscle group is being left out. The steel frame felt incredibly strong, and I loved how the seat, handlebars, and pedals were all non-slip.

4. Sunny Health & Fitness Elastic Cord Rowing Machine SF-RW5606

This rowing machine only has four levels of adjustable tension, but it still got the job done.

The seat is oversized, which makes it extra comfortable. The console is also a little larger than the other models, making it easier to keep track of your workout progress. I also found that this model was very easy to put together and came with all the necessary tools.

5. Sunny Health & Fitness Sit Up Rowing Machine

The Sunny Health and Fitness Sit Up Rowing Machine provides you with a sit-up rowing bench that works out your abs, chest, and arms at the same time.

This is a great option if you’re a little short on space. It’s compact and easy to store away. If your budget is tight, this is a great deal that will still give you the workout experience you’re after.

What's to Love About the Sunny Health & Fitness Rowing Machine

No matter which rowing machine you choose, there’s plenty to fall in love with in your Sunny Health and Fitness Rowing Machine.

Here’s what’s impressed me the most with my rowing machine:

Affordable Yet Strong

I almost didn’t get a rowing machine at all because of sticker shock. I couldn’t believe how much some of these machines were going for!

But when I came across a few Sunny Health and Fitness models, I quickly realized that even with my small budget, I could own my own rowing machine.

I was worried that I was purchasing a cheap frame. After all, you get what you pay for, right? But I also quickly realized that my Sunny Rowing Machine was sturdy and durable.

Even after using my workout equipment several times a week for a few months, there's no sign of wear and tear. I’m confident that my rowing machine will be around for the long haul, making its low price an even bigger bargain.

Easy to Store

I don’t have a ton of extra space in my home, so one of the things I love the most about my rowing machine is its ability to fold flat when I’m not using it. All you have to do is remove a few bolts and fold it up. Just check your Sunny Rowing Machine manual for more specific directions.

I store mine under my bed, but it would easily fit in a closet as well. It’s also very light, so just about anyone can move it with ease.

One Size Fits All

Just about everyone in my family uses the rowing machine. It has multiple levels of resistance to choose from. I stick with medium resistance levels while my husband uses the higher levels.

My teenage daughter uses a light resistance level since she’s still a beginner.

No matter your skill level, you’re sure to get a safe yet effective workout with a Sunny rowing machine.

What's NOT to Love About the Sunny Health & Fitness Rowing Machine

In all honesty, there really isn’t much on my rowing machine that I don’t like. Sunny Health Fitness is known for their superior designs and features.

If I had to choose something though, it would be the console. I wish it gave me a little more information so I could track my progress.

It doesn’t let me know my heart rate or the distance I’ve rowed. But for the price, the console isn’t terrible.

How to Warm Up Before Using a Sunny Health & Fitness Rowing Machine

It’s always a good idea to warm up before your rowing workout. Before you hop on the machine, do a little aerobic exercise to raise your heart rate.

This could include jogging or heel kicks. Do a five-minute warmup before each session.

You should also stretch a bit. Focus on your quadriceps and arms. Also stretch your back. This should only take a few minutes, but you'll feel much better the day after your workout if you’ve stretched properly, and it will also help prevent common rowing machine mistakes.

How Good Is a Sunny Health & Fitness Rowing Machine for Your Cardio?

Cardio workouts are great at maintaining heart health and preventing some serious diseases, but they’re hard to work into our schedules. A rowing workout helps you burn some serious calories, and you’ll keep burning them even after your workout is done!

This is thanks to the extra resistance your Sunny Rowing Machine provides. It increases your muscle activation and extends the life of your workout.

If you really want to get in a good cardio session on your rowing machine, follow this workout:

1. Start out at a steady pace for about five minutes.

2. Switch to a lower resistance level and take it easy for a minute.

3. Next, increase your speed for about 30 seconds.

4. Keep repeating this cycle about 10 times.

5. Cool down for a few minutes before wrapping up your workout.

This type of workout will keep your heart rate up and keep your muscles engaged for longer.

Is a Sunny Health & Fitness Rowing Machine Good for Weight Loss?

Absolutely! A rowing machine is great for weight loss. Each workout burns a ton of calories plus helps to sculpt your body. You’ll be stronger, leaner, lighter, and healthier. If you’re rowing for weight loss, follow this workout:

1. Warm up for a couple minutes on a medium resistance level.

2. Row as hard as you can for a full minute.

3. Rest for a minute or until your heart rate comes down.

4. Repeat this cycle for about 20 minutes.

This type of workout will target calories stored from fat and help you reach your weight loss goals much quicker.

Rowing Machine vs Running

Both options will give you a tremendous workout, but here are a few main differences between them:

  • Running will usually burn more calories. The average person burns about 160 calories in a half hour workout on a rowing machine and about 180 calories in a half hour while running. The difference isn’t drastic, but if burning calories is your main goal, running would give you faster results.
  • Rowing works out more muscles. You’re using your upper, middle, and lower body during your entire rowing workout, while running focuses more on your lower body. Also, a rowing workout is less intense on your joints. If you’re looking for a low-impact workout or are recovering from an injury, rowing is the better option.

You can always do what I do. I mix up my rowing and running workouts. I run once or twice a week for maximum burned calories and then spend a few days on my rowing machine.

This keeps me lean and trim but doesn’t leave me exhausted.

If you’re in the market for new workout equipment, a Sunny Health and Fitness Rowing Machine is an excellent option.

If you’re not sold on a Sunny Health and Fitness Sit Up Rowing Machine, consider the Stamina Body Trac Glider 1050 Rowing Machine. Either way, you’ll enjoy your workouts and see the results you want, all from the comfort of your own home.

Don’t wait another day to start working towards the new and improved you!
